The makers of The Bacterionomicon bring you a new children's book about SCIENCE! What goes on inside a human body? What is blood? What does it do? In Tales of Soma, the basics of hematology (the study of blood) are viewed through the eyes of a young red blood cell who is excited to jump into the rushing canals with his friends and begin his new job delivering "Oxy" to the needy inhabitants of Soma. Check out the adorable animated video.

Medgunner Board Prep: The Card Game

A while back, David Griffin, the doctor who runs the website https://www.medgunner.com, reached out to us to show us the medical card game he was creating. We thought it was so cool we wanted to pass it along.
The goal of the game is to correctly answer "pimp questions" to gain "knowledge points" in order to climb the ranks of the medical hierarchy from medical student to resident physician to attending physician. It's called Medgunner Board Prep, and it just launched on Kickstarter. The art is all completed already so it shouldn't be too much of a wait for the final product. Check it out!

Hi everyone,
Well, most everyone who has received their copy of the game has responded very positively about the game itself, and the art, which is great! But the shipping hassles and delays and the occasionally damaged copies are a super bummer. Although I've felt fairly helpless during all these delays and hassles, it sure gives me greater respect for all those companies that ship us stuff quickly and accurately whenever we shop on the internet. Since we don't own a warehouse and don't have any discount shipping contracts with any shipping companies, we've been using various 3rd party services, to various degrees of success.
We went a little overboard with our poster options... we were excited to show everyone all these poster designs we'd made (since doing all the fantasy characters, we also started doing a line of medical infographics posters called Curative Design) but giving people the option to choose one poster from 40+ options was a little silly, and a bad decision from a cost of expenses point of view, and it totally overwhelmed TopatoCo since they had to sort all these different posters and try to make sure the right people got the right poster, and the posters arrived en masse and weren't labeled... anyway, the poster thing was part of the reason there were delays. Also, one of the first batches of shipments vanished in the matrix and everyone had these ominous tracking numbers that didn't show anything, which created a bit of a panic.
But now that these crises have passed, most of you have your copies and can battle furiously to protect or harm the innocent people of Soma. Have at it!
